'Prisoners' Review: 10/10, can't find a film to watch, here it is!

๐Ÿ“ฟ Prisoners ๐Ÿ“ฟ Review ๐Ÿ“ฟ 10/10 ๐Ÿ“ฟ

Last night I sat and watched Denis Villeneuve's Prisoners for the second time in about 4 years, the first being 4 years ago, so, I went into it with a vague idea of what the film entailed, but had almost little to no remembrance of what actually went on, and that's when the fun began, God it felt so good, like I was experiencing the film for the first time, again.

This film is an outright bloody masterpiece filled with an extraordinary cast and I completely forgot that it literally has 3 of my top 20 actors; Jake Gyllenhaal (Det. Loki), Hugh Jackman (Keller Dover) and Paul Dano (Alex Jones), I cannot commend there performances enough, there talent is awe-inspiring. Each character had there beliefs challenged to unfathomable lengths, especially Dover, a Christian man that has lost his daughter and is stuck between a rock and a hard-place; the faith in his god and the love for his daughter, he shows the extreme lengths of which he would go to, to save his daughter, bending the rules and twisting his faith in multiple ways along the way. As every day goes by his faith is challenged more and more and he gets lost between good and evil, but he never gives up, pushing himself to do what he never believed he could.

Loki has solved every single one of his cases (as Mrs Dover reiterates), that's a big problem, instantly he is put under incredible pressure by himself and the parents and throughout the film that weighs heavy on his mind. He is also doing everything he can for these girls, like Dover, but, he's doing it within the confines of the law, which can be a slow, antagonizing and tedious task at times, but thank God he's a smart, reluctant tour de force who will stop at nothing to save those girls!

Denis is a bloody genius, his balance between good and evil, faith and fear, heartbreak and pain, truth and lies -- the list goes on -- is just second to none. Absolutely everything about this film oozes class, I could gladly sit and right so much more but I think I have covered it! What a director! Buy it now if you haven't already!!!
