'Ghost Rider' Review: The worst Marvel Movie No. 2! The fall of Nicholas Cage!

Worst Marvel Movie No. 2 πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Ghost Rider πŸ”₯πŸ’€ Review πŸ”₯πŸ’€ 3.7/10 πŸ”₯πŸ’€

The fall of Nicholas Cage...

In my opinion this very movie destroyed Nicholas Cage's career, back in the late 80's right the way through to the early 2000's he starred in some brilliant films, such as; Con Air, The City Of Angels, The Rock, Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation and Matchstick Men, I mean there's copious amounts of great films there, the latest of them all was 2003 (Machstick Men). Then we hit 2007 where he stars as Johnny Freaking Blaze in the Ghost Rider flick, dun, dun, dun....

Then it all starts to go downhill from there with films like; Bangkok Dangerous, Drive Angry, Season Of The Witch, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Stolen, Pay The Ghost, The Runner, seriously I'm not even done, there's so many more so I'm just going to stop, you get the picture, I hope. There were about 2 or 3 half decent films he has had since 2007 and that's; Bad Lieutenant (2009), Kick-Ass (2010) and indie flick Joe (2014) which I'm grateful for as it Introduced me to the great young talent that is Tye Sheridan.

Like a few comic book-derived movies, GHOST RIDER is corny, fiery, and outsized, but unfortunately it's not very entertaining. While the Caretaker makes lots of noise about the Ghost Rider's "legend," the movie's action and plotting are very uninspired. Cage does some more terrible Elvis impersonating, Mendes shows cleavage, and Elliott looks leathery, but none of these details helps create a sense of the Ghost Rider's grand mythology.

The Rider's gift, or shall I say curse is his ability to assault his bad-souled victims with a Stare of Penance (he commands them to "Look into my eyes,") and then make them suffer the pain of all the poor innocents they wronged. But the visual delivery of this trick is feeble, a mostly blurry, vaguely fiery, utterly un-menacing montage of wailing, collapsing faces. This was Ghost Rider's big trick? Obviously apart from being able to turn his bike into a fiery demon motorcycle and wielding rather tame hellfire from his skeletal hands, It was hardly the stuff of legends. What do you guys and gals think of Cage and Ghost Rider?
