'Peaky Blinders' Season 4, Episode 2 - Heathens Review
π« Peaky Blinders π« Season 4: 'Heathens' Review π« 10/10 π«
So where do I begin with last night's epic episode of Peaky Blinders... We start off with some tragic and rather gut-wrenching news that rips right through the core of the Shelby's, news they need to come to grips with sooner rather than later -- there is no time to mourn when thee enemy is getting prepared to attack, again.
Tommy get's his family all back together again in what once was there home, and is now there battleground. He wastes no time at all when it comes to getting the hole town prepared, enlisting even the dodgiest of characters to join his ranks, aiding him in his mission to keep his family safe.
We not only get one, but TWO character introductions this episode and both are done in tremendous fashion, first we had Aidan Gillen's Aberama Gold and that brilliant sequence in the scrapyard when Tommy managed to one-up his newfound ally/rival -- pissing myself laughing! Then we got what we were all waiting for.... Tommy finally came face-to-face with the man that masterminded the death of his brother John, Luca Changretta.
Played by the Oscar-winning Adrien Brody, there was an assured, ruthless and confident swagger in Luca's entrance -- a bit Marlon Brando-esque-ish if you will -- and every Peaky Blinders fan knew that something special was about to unfold.
Posing as the most gangster French businessman you have ever seen, Changretta gleefully toyed with Tommy about his expensive suits, the death of John and the fact that the Mafia can now get to the leader of the Peaky Blinders without him even knowing.
“None of your family will survive. We are an organisation of a different dimension" said Luca as he dominated over Tommy, he also goes on to rub in his face how easy it was to just waltz into his establishment undetected, holy sh** I felt so intimidated let alone poor Tommy!
