'The Disaster Artist' Review: This Is James Franco's Masterpiece! "Hi Mark"s All-Round!

🎬 The Disaster Artist 🎬 Review 🎬 10/10 🎬

WOW! Just came out of the cinema and what started off as a rather traumatic night, ended in style and turned out to be a majestic one that I will never forget, that is all down to the brilliance of James Franco and the accidental, illusive genius that is Tommy Wiseau.

James Franco gives an awe-inspiring performance as both director and star in this masterpiece about the making of the best-worst movie 'The Room'. This is definetly an Oscar worthy performance from James Franco, who captures every essence of Tommy perfectly, it was so refreshing to see one of my favourite comedic actors back at his best, showing the world once again what he is truly capable of after a run of mediocre indie flicks. This isn't his first time in the directors chair but it is his first in-front of a worldwide audience and I have to say the likes of Scorsese couldn't of done any better.

He really was a perfect Tommy, there persona's, there dubious ways, everything just matched. What made it even better for me, is how much Franco cares about this movie, and that was perfect, Franco making his passion project about Tommy’s passion project.

The scenes that were remade from 'The Room' were so authentic and pretty much identical, it even shows how identical at the end of the flick with side by side shots of each other's takes. The acting from everyone, especially the Franco's, the direction, the score and the behind the scenes story that let's you into Tommy's weird mind, but somehow leaves him even more mysterious than he already was, is all brilliant, scrap that, SENSATIONAL!

The best feel-good comedy of 2017 with a brilliant lesson in life; don't be scared to dream and dream big, whatever the cost!

Cool facts: The production designer used the original blueprints to rebuild the sets. The DP matched the terrible lighting exactly. And the cast worked painstakingly to re-create the performances’ offbeat rhythms.
