MARVEL TELEVISION HAVE FOUND THERE BLACK BOLT!

Image
Hell on Wheels  star  Anson Mount  has been tapped as the lead, Black Bolt, in  Marvel’s Inhumans , the new  ABC  series that  will get an Imax debut . Marvel’s Inhumans   will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. Mount joins recently cast Iwan Rheon ( Game of Thrones ), who will play Black Bolt’s brother, Maximus. Marvel’s Inhuman s is executive produced by Scott Buck — who serves as showrunner — Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory for Marvel Television, and ABC Studios. “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said Loeb, Head of Marvel Television. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing, almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.” Added Buck, “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m

'BATES MOTEL' SEASON 5 EPISODE 1 REVIEW!

Image
★★★★★ The first fantastic episode of  Bates Motels season 5  builds perfectly on the climax of season four, capturing the deepening emotional rupture that allows Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) to “live with” his dead mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). The two leads have never been better, and showrunner/episode writer Kerry Ehrin sets the stage for the final arc of this classic mother-and-son duo as she links Alfred Hitchcock’s  Psycho  to her vision of  Bates Motel . It’s going to be a "bloody" fun season. It may not have been completely intentional, but “Dark Paradise” includes the kind of bait-and-switch that Hitchcock would have loved. For weeks now, A&E has been advertising the arrival of Rihanna as Marion Crane, the doomed traveler played by Janet Leigh in the classic film. She’s nowhere to be found in this premiere, but fans of the film likely perked up at the mention of another name: Loomis. We may not be getting the  Bates Motel  iteration of Marion quite yet

It's written by Max Landis, who penned the likes of  Chronicle  and  American Ultra . The movie is produced by Netflix, and will hit the streaming service in December. The company won the rights to make the film in a bidding war last year, ultimately investing $90 million into the project. In related news, it was reported recently that Ayer will direct a  Suicide Squad  spinoff

WATCH THIS HILARIOUS VIDEO INCLUDING: SAMUEL L JACKSON, JEFF BRIDGES, RYAN GOSLING AND EMMA STONE ALL GETTING PONED!

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 89th annual Academy Awards last night in the US, so naturally he was going to do one of the most popular bits from his ABC late-night show: Enter “Mean Tweets: Oscar Edition.” Watch it above. Meanwhile, here’s a little taste — read by the stars who were mentioned: “Oh look at me, I’m Ryan Gosling. I have perfect bone structure and kind eyes. Go f*ck yourself, Ryan Gosling.” “Samuel L. Jackson has resting fart face.”  Responded Jackson, “Yes I do.” “Emma Stone looks like a crack whore in every role she plays,” read the  La La Land  actress. “Miles Teller has the face of guy who would request ‘Gangnam Style’ at a wedding where he doesn’t know either the bride or the groom.” “I think Jeff Bridges wears pants a lot less than we all think he does.” Bridges joked:  “That’s actually true.”

TABOO, SERIES FINALE REVIEW: ABSOLUTE INSANITY!

Image
At the end of it all, Taboo ended with a heap of dead or dying bodies – with the promise of life in the New World for some of the lucky ones. An action-packed instalment did not waste a second and was gripping from start to finish. It opened with Tom Hardy’s James Delaney scheming his way out of the Tower of London and setting in motion a thrilling plan that outsmarted the Crown, the East India Company and even the slithery US spy Dumbarton. By the close he managed to finally assemble a crew of misfits bound for a new life away from Britain's shores. For those that survived, that is. The list of people sailing under his American flag looked pretty depleted by the end, though, after Mark Gatiss’ grotesque Prince Regent finally had enough of our hero and ordered the Red Coats to just kill him, even if doing so meant losing Nootka Sound under the terms of Delaney's will. But Delaney’s men, having secured a boat from the East India (thanks to Delaney's blackm

MASS MARVEL PRODUCER SIMON KINBERG UPDATES US ON 'DEADPOOL 2' AND 'NEW MUTANTS'!

Image
Mass marvel Producer Simon Kinberg has shared some new insight on  Deadpool 2  and  New Mutants . Speaking to Collider, Kinberg said both should enter production sometime in 2017 and release in 2018. For  New Mutants , the team is currently waiting on a new draft of the script. Josh Boone ( The Fault In Our Stars ) is directing. For  Deadpool 2 , Ryan Reynolds and the writing team have been "working hard on the script," Kinberg said. The movie is being directed by the amazing David Leitch ( John Wick ), who takes over for the first movie's director, Tim Miller (So expect even more amazing action sequences). Don't get me wrong Tim Miller did a marvellous job, but for the R rated movie we want David Leitch, everything he is about oozes action.  David Leitch is an actor, stuntman, writer, producer, stunt coordinator and film director, so all you have to do if your not sure is have another look at John Wick 1 or 2 either one will do.  "We have a really g

NETFLIX HAVE OUTDONE THEMSELVES HERE BY PICKING UP MARTIN SCORSESES BIG BUDGET FILM ' THE IRISHMAN' STARRING ROBERT DE NIRO!

Image
The biggest changes in Hollywood generally happen in a series of steps more so than one single big event. Examples of that are the “talkies,” the shift towards colour, the fall of the  Hays Code , and changes in aspect ratio, just to name a few. This weekend’s Academy Awards shed light on two more trends in production at the traditional studios, namely the increase in big budget franchise films and the corresponding decrease in smaller budget films (especially those that might attract awards attention).  Now, streaming companies such as Netflix and Amazon are progressively stepping up their presence, working with big names like Matt Damon, Woody Allen, and Guillermo Del Toro and many more, but this week’s news concerns possibly the biggest online “get” yet, and it’s not just the “who” of it, but also the size of the budget. Netflix has  scooped up the rights  to director Martin Scorsese’s $100 million budget gangster drama  The Irishman , his ninth film with Robert De Niro. T h

THE NEW LANDO CALRISSIAN, DONALD GLOVER, WILL ALSO BE THE FUTURE LION KING

Image
We may never get a full feature film of Vin Diesel  playing  Bambi , but that doesn’t mean Disney won’t be applying their live action remake formula to other animated animal classics, like say, Tim Burton’s remake of  Dumbo  (in which, by the way, Will Smith is no longer in talks to co-star). Another beloved classic that Disney has been developing as a remake for a while now is  The Lion King , to be directed by Jon Favreau ( The Jungle Book ,  Iron Man ).  Late last Friday afternoon, the news broke about the two actors who were the  first to be cast  as voices in the next version of  The Lion King . Together, they represent both Disney’s (and  The Lion King’s ) past and its (corporate) future.  That’s because James Earl Jones will reprise his role from the first movie as  Lion King  #1 (Mufasa), and Donald Glover will voice  Lion King  #2 (Simba), the latter of which continues Glover’s relationship with Disney following his supporting role in this summer’s  Spider-Man: Homecomi

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO WATCH THIS 4 MINUTE PROLOGUE TO 'ALIEN: COVENANT'

Image
Well, this is a nice surprise. Wednesday night, a four-plus minute prologue to Ridley Scott’s  Alien: Covenant  has come online. In it, you get brief introductions to the characters, the setup of the story and, well, maybe a little shock. This is REQUIRED viewing before the film is released on May 19. Now, you didn’t actually think an alien was going to pop out of her chest, right? But it was a good fake-out. This crew seems to be in very good spirits, at least once James Franco leaves. I really can’t wait to see where it all goes to shit. Here’s the official synopsis: Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

ITS GOT TO MAKE YOU LAUGH! DC AND WARNER BROS. HAVE JUST MADE THERE LIVES EVEN HARDER WITH A NIGHTWING MOVIE!

Image
If you thought you had a handle on the DC superhero movies, Warner Bros. is about to mess everything up once again. According to  The Hollywood Reporter ,  Lego Batman Movie  director Chris McKay is currently in talks to direct a movie about Nightwing—a.k.a. Dick Grayson, the original Robin and Batman’s first sidekick—with  The Accountant ‘s Bill Dubuque writing the script. This is where it gets confusing: Though McKay directed  The Lego Batman Movie  and that did include a goofy take on Dick Grayson (voiced by Michael Cera), this project will be part of the live-action  Justice League -based universe and not the animated Lego universe. Also, while none of the traditional Robin characters have physically appeared in the live-action movie universe, an old Robin suit with a taunting message from the Joker painted on it did appear in  Batman V Superman . That seemed like a very overt nod to Jason Todd, the second Robin, who was famously beaten to death by the Joker in the comics,
