JOHN WICK TV SERIES IS ON THE CARDS!

They murdered his dog, they stole his car and they haven't even released his sequel yet but John Wick is being dragged out of retirement once more for a prequel TV series. Director Chad Stahelski, while talking through the origins of John Wick: Chapter 2, opened up to SlashFilm about the proposed small screen spinoff. And here's what he said:
"We’re not doing a prequel [with Chapter 2]," he explains. "We wanted to, it just didn’t fit quite where we’re at…. we’d save that for other aspects of the property. Lionsgate is very interested in doing a John Wick TV show, and that seems very appealing to us, to give those creative ideas to that entity, because I think in TV you could really expand on what that is, and greater than we could in just a two-hour film."
The prospect of watching Wick tear up the Russian underworld as their 'Baba Yaga' (Boogieman) and seeing just exactly how he killed that guy with a pencil is quite the prospect. However, with the films' signature gun-fu and precision ultra-violence topped off with the most headshots in a film is hardly compatible with network sensibilities, we can only hope such a show finds the home it deserves, where executives aren't scared by a little flying claret. Netflix, are you paying attention?
John Wick: Chapter 2 is out in the UK on 17 February.
