'Wonder' Review: Fresh And Beautifuly Poignant!

Image
πŸ‘¨‍πŸš€ Wonder πŸ‘¨‍πŸš€ Review πŸ‘¨‍πŸš€ 10/10 πŸ‘¨‍πŸš€ 'Wonder' is a fresh, beautifuly poignant coming of age story about a brave young lad, August "Auggie" Pullman (Jacob Tremblay) and his extraordinary journey through the 5th grade. This film's key success was in it's character building which was amazing thanks to the way director Stephen Chbosky gave viewers a first-person glimpse of how the world looks to key characters other than Auggie (Via, Miranda and Jack Will) which was crucial in bonding with the audience. There were several times throughout this movie were I was almost reduced to tears, But I fought them bad boys back and kept my head in the game. This drama is earnest and sweet, with great messages about kindness, friendship, and acceptance. Roberts and Wilson are well-matched as Auggie and Via's parents, Tremblay emotes well even under heavy prosthetics and makeup, and Vidovic pulls off the challenge of playing a moody teen without making you

Over The Years D.C Have Been Up And Down More Times Than I Can Remember: Here's The Best And Worst Of Them All!

Image
D.C are always so hit and miss. The last decent run of films was 'The Dark Knight' trilogy, since then it's pretty much been a shambles (bar the exception of 'Wonder Woman') and I am almost certain that it's due to there rushed antics in the studio. For one, It feels like every time Marvel release a film (and it does well) there schedule suddenly gets pushed forward and dates of films change. Look at 'Justice League,' that's a prime example of what not to do in filmmaking, especially at that calibre, it was sooo rushed and it really showed in parts. Wonder Woman was by no means "a perfect film," but they took time with it, nurtured it and brought Wonder Woman back to life and that showed and then just as that hope twinkles, BAM! They bring out Justice League. D.C have always been in the shadows of Marvel and it feels as if they try to hard to be them instead of being D.C, the worse thing is, they actually have so many great characters an

'The Revenant' Review: Only A Few Years Late, Realized I Didn't Review This Beautiful Movie So Here It Is!

Image
⭐ The Revenant ⭐Review ⭐ 9/10 ⭐ Better late than never... Loosely based on the life of 19th century frontiersman Hugh Glass, The Revenant is a brutal yet visually stunning western with one of Leonardo DiCaprio's best performances to date, finally winning him that Oscar he deserved (for many years). The film follows Glass after he is mauled by a bear and left for dead by his fellow fur traders. One of the frontiersmen, John Fitzgerald (The terrifying Tom Hardy), kills his son, and Glass voyages over 200 miles to exact revenge on him. The Revenant is one of the most violent movies I've seen from 2015, although the incredible scenery and cinematography from Emmanuel Lubezki also make it one of the most astonishing movies to look at, It's cold, visceral, and almost entirely authentic and It combines some intense, difficult-to-watch scenes with amazing scenery which makes it one of the most Beautifuly violent films I've ever seen. Leo's committed and demanding

'Marshall' Review: Boseman Displays A Powerful Performance In his 3rd Biopic In 5 Years!

Image
πŸ“š Marshall πŸ“š Review πŸ“š 8.6/10 πŸ“š This streamlined biopic deftly sidesteps most of the genre's cliches, offering a character who's both human and heroic. Director Reginald Hudlin (House Party, Boomerang) is hardly a master filmmaker, but (here's some trivia) he was part of an important movement of African-American filmmakers in the early 1990s, and he brings a crisp, bracing vigor to Marshall. It recalls some of Spike Lee's work on Malcolm X, but with less showiness. Boseman stars in his third biopic in just five years, but his work here is more fascinatingly flawed than his performance in 42 and more emotionally gripping than in Get On Up. He delivers an expert performance, and the supporting cast steps up to match him. Gad was amazing in the role of Sam Friedman, a jewish lawyer who had never handled a criminal case up until he met Marshall. Kate Hudson was very deceiving as the "victim" Eleanor Strubling. Even Sterling K. Brown finds depth as the ac

Director Luca Guadagnino Is Already Planning On Two Sequels For 'Call Me By Your Name'

Image
Currently showing in a limited 815 theaters, Best Picture nominee Call Me By Your Name has only earned $9 million thus far, which to me suggests that most movie fans have probably not yet seen the film (including me). Even so, director Luca Guadagnino is already planning on following Call Me By Your Name up with two more sequels to form his own equivalent to Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight trilogy. TimothΓ©e Chalamet and Armie Hammer starred in Call Me By Your Name as 17-year-old and 24-year-old Americans, respectively, who fall in love in rural Italy back in 1983. According to Guadagnino, the sequel will be set five years later in 1988, and shift the focus more towards the height of the HIV and AIDS epidemic. So far, all I have heard Is ample good things about Call Me By Your Name, which only leads me to think the second will be just as good as the first if not better. I'm even more excited to watch the first now as I know there will be more! Yay!

'Pacific Rim Uprising' New Trailer Is The Stuff Of Geeks Dreams!

Image
WOW! I have only just caught onto the second trailer for 'Pacific Rim Uprising' that was released just 3 days ago and I have to say, it's really fulfilling all of my geeky dreams and expectations. My inner geek is ready to burst out! I mean what film/game nerd doesn't dream about some sort of monstrous robot, being a hero or a legend or even both, fighting monsters, villains or Kaiju. It's a no brainer, at some point in our lives I am sure we all have, wether it's in your subconscious buried away with all the other childhood dreams or there still to this day as fresh in your mind as the rain outside. This trailer provides us with some more detail on what the sequel might entail; there is a traitor in the midst, someone is letting the Kaiju in from our side and there's Kaiju flooding in, bigger, badder and beastier. Not only do we get a hole bunch of new pilots, Jaegers and Kaiju, we get a BAD JAEGER, a BIG BAD JAEGER and it looks fooking epic! Swipe r

'Captain Marvel' First Photos Of Brie Larson Suited And Booted! Loving The Classic Green!

Image
Oscar winner, Brie Larson, 28, was photographed in costume as Captain Marvel for the first time Wednesday afternoon while filming in Atlanta. Larson is signed on to play Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after her DNA is fused with an alien following an accident, in the 1990s-set “Captain Marvel.” It will be the first Marvel solo film to focus on a female character. She can be seen wearing a green suit, that borrows heavily from the comics. Unlike recent Avengers outfits that have been stocked with new tech, the costume shares more in common with Captain America’s from The First Avenger (only because Stark hasn't got his hands on it yet). The movie, which will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, is expected to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.

'Only The Brave' Review: A Fitting, Devastating Tribute To These Fine Hero's!

Image
πŸ”₯ Only The Brave πŸ”₯ Review πŸ”₯ 8.4/10 πŸ”₯ Only The Brave tells the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite wildlands firefighting team. Hard-driving supervisor Eric Marsh (Josh Brolin) has been fighting for the last 4 years to get his crew certified as "hot shots." Thanks to the help of his old friend and chief (Bridges) that dream soon becomes a reality. There is no denying that this is an enthralling film from start to finish -- your eyes will be glued to the screen, -- the acting from the likes of Brolin, Teller, Bridges and Kitsch were all out of this world (especialy Teller who plays Crackhead turned "hot shot" Brendan McDonough). Most of the scenes/shots were just as majestic as they were devastating, 80% of the dialogue was brilliant and it is truly a great tribute to these "Brave" hero's. But, i'm sorry to say -- as it is very hard to criticise a true story of this magnitude, so I hope I don't offend -- some of the

'The Dark Knight' Review: The Best Batman Movie Ever!

Image
Big, bold, and bruising, this is a prime example of how to make a big-budget, high-profile comic-book sequel -- well-made, exciting, invested, and engaging (D.C should really look back to this film). Credit has to go to director/co-writer Christopher Nolan for making a strong, rich film that gives audiences plenty to talk about and mull over even after the initial adrenaline rush wears off. Like the other filmmakers who've tackled Batman in the modern age, Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher, Nolan has an obvious enthusiasm for the character; unlike Burton and Schumacher, Nolan also has an obvious respect for the character's history, grounding the costumes and action with real character development and focused storytelling. The actors are all excellent. Ledger's work as The Joker earnt him an Oscar for best supporting actor. His swaggering, unhinged take on the character makes for an unsettling, compelling interpretation. As Dent (who, as comic-book fans know, eventually

'Molly's Game' Review: Sorkin's Wrote About Baseball, Apple, Facebook And Now Poker!

Image
♠️ Molly's Game ♥️ Review ♠️ 8.8/10♥️ Aaron Sorkin makes his directorial debut with Molly's Game, a film he also kinda wrote (tweaked from the book), and if you've ever seen a film written by Sorkin you'll know that you're in for a film where the dialogue comes at you like bullets being sprayed from a machine gun. We've seen Sorkin write films about Facebook, Baseball and Apple before, but Molly's Game see's Sorkin explore the world of poker to bring us the true story of Molly Bloom. Molly Bloom (Jessica Chastain) was known for running the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game, an entrepreneurial path chosen after an injury cut her dream of skiing for the American Winter Olympics team short. It's a path that led to interactions with the Russian mafia, movie stars and Bloom becoming a target for the FBI, ultimately leading to her attempting to clear her own name. Right from the film's opening sequence, you know you're in f

Here's 20 Of My All-Time Favourite Villains! From Sinister To Super, We Love Our Villains!

Image
Of course everyone loves their heroes. But deep down, in the darkness of our souls, we love our villains even more. Their status as outsiders confuses us, their charm or psychosis intrigues us, and their existence simply scares us and what's even better is not all heroes wear capes and not all villains take lives. Some are content simply to ruin them. So here is a list of my Top 20 favourite movie villains of all time (in order): 1) Norman Bates - Anthony Perkins (Psycho, 1960) 2) Joker - Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) 3) Darth Vader (Everyone Under The Mask) 4) Anton Chigurgh - Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men) 5) Bill The Butcher - Daniel Day Lewis (Gangs Of New York) 6) Pennywise - Bill Skarsgard (IT, 2017) 7) Green Goblin - Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) 8) Hans Landa - Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Bastards) 9) Patrick Bateman - Christian Bale (American Psycho) 10) Voldemort - Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter) 11) Frank Booth - Dennis Hopper (Blue Velvet) 12) Tommy D

'The Florida Project' Review: The Way This Film Captures The Innocence Of Children Is Beautiful!

Image
🌟 The Florida Project 🌟 Review 🌟 9/10 🌟 I have just been constantly hearing great things about this from most of you, film festivals and from certain critics I follow on social media. I haven't seen Sean Baker's previous effort, Tangerine, so I didn't really have a barometer for what to expect. I can safely say the film works so well on multiple levels. It's incredibly well acted, and utilizes a charming and emotional script to convey an experience you won't forget. The film follows a young girl named Moonee (played brilliantly by young Brooklynn Kimberly Prince) and her mom who live in an extended stay motel in the shadows of Disney World which is managed by Bobby (Willem Dafoe). Halley (Bria Vinaite), Moone's mother, has trouble making ends meet and does whatever she can to raise her daughter but her brash personality and certain life choices make life extremely difficult for all involved during their stay at the motel. Bobby tries his best to watch

'American Satan' Review: Lead Singer Of Black Veil Brides Takes The Lead In This Passionate Love-Letter To Rock 'N' Roll!

Image
🌟 American Satan 🌟 Review 🌟 8.5/10 🌟 For anyone who watches American Satan you should know that writer and director Ash Avildsen is the founder of Sumerian Films and Sumerian Records. Avildsen’s label is packed with progressive metal, metalcore and deathcore bands. And American Satan is definetly a passionate love-letter to the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle. The movie follows a young band, The Relentless, made of UK and U.S. musicians who head to L.A. to chase their dreams of being massive. As they try to find fame, a mysterious stranger interjects himself into their lives and offers a Faustian deal. Fame and success follow, but not without consequence. American Satan is more than just a surface-level look at celebrity, drugs and sex. It’s a deep film that poses not-so-easily-answerable questions. How far would you go to get what you want? Would you sign a deal with the devil? Do you have free will? How much will this cost you? While the movie doesn’t answer all these questions

'Amityville: The Awakening' Review: Why Revive Such An Unpopular Film!

Image
πŸ“Ώ Amityville: The Awakening πŸ“Ώ Review πŸ“Ώ 4.5/10 πŸ“Ώ Why did I bother? Always trust your instincts, especially when it comes to the Amityville story's! The cinematography is fine, the actors are okay. One of the biggest issues with the film itself is the audio, there are plenty of scenes where dialogue is almost completely drowned out by background sound. The film surprisingly starts off on a rather good note, using what looks like old police footage to explain about the Defeo murders, but unfortunately from there on in the movie makes a steady decline into worthlessness. Instead of making the movie about the house, murders and hauntings, they choose to focus on a bratty girl and her comatosed brother (touching, but I'm not here to watch a family drama). The haunting takes a back seat to the family drama, which makes the movie even worse. Poor pacing, poor writing, the movie is less than thrilling. Let's put it this way, there's a reason why they opted for a

'The Snowman' Review: Booooo!

Image
⛄ The Snowman ⛄ Review ⛄ 5/10 ⛄ Based on a novel by Jo NesbΓΈ, this crime thriller has a promising director and a strong cast, but it's a shambolic mess, with baffling flashbacks, excessive padding, and an overall shit execution. Surprisingly filmmaker Tomas Alfredson previously gave the world Let the Right One In and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy -- both really good film adaptations of novels -- so there was no reason up-front to worry that The Snowman could be any less, hence why I was confident (was being the key word) that this could of been good. And it starts well enough, using Oslo's snowy atmosphere as interesting backdrop. But the characters and their almost-random behavior begin to undo things very fast. Flashbacks to a character played by Val Kilmer are profoundly bad; Kilmer wears strange makeup, and his voice is clearly dubbed very badly by another actor. Digital visual effects depicting gory scenes look flat and unfinished. And there seems to be no end to sill

'I, Tonya' Review: Great Film, But I Wouldn't Call It A True Story!

Image
⛸ I, Tonya ⛸ Review ⛸ 8.8/10 ⛸ Last night the misses and I sat and enjoyed one of the best acted but edgy biopics in recent years. I, Tonya was a whole heap of fun, filled to the brim with exceptional performances from the likes of Sebastian Stan, Paul Walter Hauser, Allison Janney and obviosly Margot Robbie herself! One of my favourite parts about the film was how the stars kept breaking the fourth wall, I really loved how Gillespie took that risk as it can sometimes take you out of a film, but, the way he handled the domestic abuse scenes were nothing short of spectacular, It was a clever device that lends itself to showing how contradictory Harding’s and Gillooly’s tales remain. While we're on the subject of abuse, I just can't get the thoughts out of my head at how brutal and realistic some of the scenes actually were, I mean you witness Stan Gillooly (Stan) smash Tonya's head into ample walls, point blank punch her in the face, throw her around and more!

'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 2 Trailer: This Looks Even Darker Than The First!

Image
Hulu has just dropped the first trailer for the highly anticipated return of The Handmaid's Tale, topping off a week that saw the show win multiple awards at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. The new clip for the dystopian drama, based on the classic Margaret Atwood novel, features the ominous vocals of a Buffalo Springfield cover as it gives a glimpse of life outside the confines of Gilead. Along with the haunting teaser Hulu announced that season two will premiere on April 25 and that actress Marisa Tomei, 53, would join the show. All of the stars from the first series will be reprising there roles! Sidenote: Earlier on today you may of noticed I wrote my review for the first season of 'The Handmaids Tale,' what you don't know is what inspired me to finally write it, it was simply just by chance that I was telling my mother about the first season, so then I wanted to show her the trailer, I go on YouTube, you know with that writers hype and then

'The Handmaids Tale' Season 1 Review: So Realistically Relevant!

Image
"Ordinary is just what you're used to," an imperious taskmistress tells her charges in the first episode of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale. "This may not seem ordinary to you right now, but after a time, it will. This will become ordinary." When it comes to content, The Handmaid's Tale is one of the strongest contenders I have ever seen, in both film and TV. This series is is so realistically relevant to current social issues it's scary, to be honest I bet even if the series were released 10 years from now, it would still feel as equally relevant. The Handmaid's Tale is even often hard to watch a few times as its violence is so so gritty. Handmaid's themes - the cruelty and illiberal thinking of organized religion, which opens up democracies to slip into authoritarianism as a result of misogyny - found an eager new audience. There are ample powerful scenes in the series, which really brings out the most revolting ideas from everyone.

HBO Have Released A Teaser For There Upcoming Movie 'Fahrenheit 451!'

Image
Ray Bradbury's classic "Fahrenheit 451" is about to burst into flame via an upcoming HBO movie, and the network released its first teaser a few days back on Thursday. Michael B. Jordan ("Black Panther") and Michael Shannon ("Shape Of Water") star in the movie version of Bradbury's 1953 classic novel about a future where books are outlawed. Jordan plays one of the future firemen who torch all the tomes, with Shannon as his captain. The new epic short teaser doesn't reveal anything to big, like characters or anything, but there's an eerie scene of someone holding a copy of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment" as it blazes up, then dropping it onto a pile of other classics, including J.D. Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye." Is anyone as excited for this as I am? I love Shannon, I Love the idea and I'm loving the actor that Jordan is turning out to be!

Millie Bobby Brown To Join The Holmes Family!

Image
Since they’re on such a phenomenally popular Netflix series, the young stars of Stranger Things are obviously going to be in very high demand for future projects in the coming years. However, due to their ages and the specific ages of their characters, their careers are, for the time being, solely intertwined with the show, that's completely understandable considering it's very time sensitive and them kids are growing FAST! Although, Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, did fit next year’s Godzilla: King of Monsters (3/22/19) in between S1 and S2, and now we know what might fit in between S3 (which starts filming soon) and S4. Millie Bobby Brown is now signed up with Legendary Entertainment (the company behind Godzilla: King of Monsters) to star in a series of films based on the Enola Holmes Mysteries by author Nancy Springer. As the title suggests, Enola is the (much) younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes who has been featured in six young adult novels since 20

Marvel And Hulu's 'Runaways' Episode 9 Review: Doomsday!

Image
I feel the success of Marvel’s Runaways so far has been largely down to its willingness to take its time. The show has spent the majority building its characters, creating plenty of mysteries and generally, just leaving fans gagging for more. ‘Doomsday’ managed to answer several of the show’s biggest mysteries and also gives us several of the moments we have been so eagerly anticipating. ‘Doomsday’ opened with a flashback, this time taking us back to the death of Molly’s parents, which has been one of the show’s biggest questions to date. In the flashback, we saw that they were, rather unsurprisingly, killed by PRIDE. While the parents have taken centre stage for the last 2 or 3 episodes of the show, the central group were back in the limelight this week, and the show’s plot accelerated to 100mph because of it. In a rather dark moment, Alex finally decided to name the group the Runaways, a decision made in honour of those who didn’t get the chance to escape from PRIDE. The group

John Wick Spin-Off Series 'The Continental' Lands At Starz And They've Got Themselves A Great Writer!

Image
Great News as Starz CEO Chris Albrecht confirmed that they and Lionsgate are developing the previously rumored television series adaptation of the “John Wick” franchise. “The Continental” will be set in the John Wick universe, more specifically in a hyper-real version of Los Angeles, and it's focus is on the inner workings of the exclusive Continental Hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins. Chris Collins (“Sons of Anarchy,” “The Wire”) will write the series and serve as showrunner which I'm rather happy about. Collins, Basil Iwanyk, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch and Keanu Reeves will all executive produce while Stahelski, who co-helmed the first film and directed the second solo, will direct the premiere episode. Starz will retain all domestic multiplatform pay TV and SVOD rights, while Lionsgate has all international and domestic distribution and home entertainment rights.

'Jigsaw' Review: Just Leave It Dead!

Image
Whenever I watch a film that includes the type of slicey, dicey type gore, flesh being torn and all that shit, it makes me gag, I literally grab the nearest pillow and hide behind it making this god awful sound, whimpering like a lil baby! Like saw 2 for example that needle pit, Jesus! Ooohhh just thinking of it now is making my stomach turn, Saw 1, 2 and 3 were messed up and they were half decent! This one, what is it 7 or 8 -- I stopped bothering after 3 -- is just crap, nothing we haven't seen before, the same flashback crap that just bores you, but instead this time the whole film turns out to be one big flashback, mediocre traps, terrible dialogue that is pretty much just everyone screaming at each other! The worse thing of all is the whole slicey dicey Saw thing was missing, it felt weak, I was able to watch the entire film without flinching, if I looked away it was only because of how crap it was! Acting from everyone was forgettable, All in all I just reminded myself w

'The New Mutants' Rant!

Image
LIVID! Doesn't even come close! Wow we get Deadpool 2 a whole 2 weeks earlier! A 2 week period I could of easily got through  and not lost any sleep over! It's not like we have Ifinity Wars just a week before, a week baring in mind that we would all still be sitting there relishing the thought of how great that flick was! I need more than a week to clear my mind and make space for Deadpool 2, Jesus! 10+ MONTHS on the other hand to wait for a Flick that was literally my most highly anticipated film of this year, I can tell you now, I will be losing sleep over this! Ok, fair enough there saying that there making it more scary, they want it on the level of It and Get Out so there taking a hole 10 months to tweak it! You know what I think the real reason is, Fox are so scared that Disney are going to scrap it, they have gone back to the drawing bored to try and make it unforgettable in order to build a big enough fan-base which Disney surely wouldn't be able to scrap then! T

'Thank You For Your Service' Review: Thoughtful, Well Realized PTSD Drama!

Image
🌟 Thank You For Your Service 🌟 Review 🌟 8.6/10 🌟 Miles Teller takes the lead role in this thoughtful, well realized PTSD drama that revolves around 3 lost soldiers that have returned "home" from the war in Iraq, all with pieces missing. This film really gets under your skin, I mean it really makes me rage when you see how the whole system treats it's veterans, I mean that's if you can even call it a system, there's hundreds of thousands of soldiers that come back from the war, all missing a piece of there former selves, and apart from a handful of people, what does the government do? Adam Schumann (Teller) tries to readjust to civilian life with his wife and two children but is suffering with the thoughts in his head -- believing that he got one of his men killed and another severely injured -- and it's tearing him apart. Best bro Tausolo Aeiti (Beulah Koale) is suffering beyond measure after a bombing that left him with a traumatic brain injury a

'The End Of The F***ing World' Season 1 Review: One Of The Best Dark Comedys Around!

Image
🌟 The End Of The F***ing World 🌟 Season 1 Review 🌟 Spoiler Free 🌟 9.5/10 🌟 James is a 17-year-old who believes he is a psychopath, regularly killing animals as a hobby but has become bored of it. After acquainting himself with Alyssa, a 17-year-old rebellious fellow schoolmate, he decides to murder her, but then actually falls in love with her, while they both embark on a crazy road trip. I've just watched this whole series in one go and I wish there were more episodes. The writing is fabulous - witty but naive, cruel but touching. As for the cast, there was not a single weak link, though the highest praise must go to Jessica Barden (Alyssa) and especially Alex Lawther (James) for perfectly balanced performances constantly moving between vulnerability and adult cynicism. If these two are not nominated for awards there is no justice. For there age, how they hit the nail right on the head with there portrayal of dark humour deserves an award on it's own. As a show

'The Shape Of Water' Review: What A Spectacle!

Image
🌟 The Shape Of Water 🌟 Review 🌟 10/10 🌟 Unprecedented director Guillermo Del Toro clearly put everything he had into this magical monster movie/romance, from a beautiful, labyrinthian visual scheme to a powerful story of love and empathy. Certainly The Shape of Water comes from a strange idea, but it's so lovely and so open-hearted that it never falters. Given that it's structured, like Del Toro's dark fairy tale, Pan's Labyrinth, viewers may think that it's easy to see where the story is going, but I beg to differ,The Shape of Water is less about the payoff, or even the mystery, the real story that lies underneath is simply about connecting. It's interesting that Del Toro decided to spend time focusing on other connections in the story, from husband-and-wife relationships to a spurned crush -- an asshole who serves some not so great pie --. And even the friendship between Elisa and Zelda -- one never speaking, the other always speaking -- is amusing

Quentin Tarantino May Of Found His Screenwriter For 'Star Trek!'

Image
It was only about a month ago that the spectacularly surprising news broke that Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained) was considering a Star Trek movie for what might be his last film before retirement (I swear I keep saying that alot recently). Most stories like this disappear before anything comes of it, but this one actually seems to have some traction. Tarantino met recently with a group of screenwriters to discuss his pitch (which reportedly involves time travel, obviously), and it appears that the frontrunner to land the job is Mark L. Smith. Smith’s previous credits include the epic Dicaprio led 'The Revenant', Joe Dante’s 'The Hole', and the 2007 “torture porn” release 'Vacancy', all of which line up with Tarantino’s stated intention of delivering the first-ever R-rated Star Trek movie. Ooohhh this is sounding rather promising!!

Kendrick Lamar To Produce And Curate The Soundtrack To 'Black Panther'

Image
Rapper Kendrick Lamar will produce and curate the soundtrack to the forthcoming Marvel movie Black Panther, having been personally selected by director Ryan Coogler. Lamar will “contribute [his] knowledge of producing sound and writing music”. The tracklist has not been revealed, but All the Stars, a new song by Lamar featuring R&B singer SZA, was released at the same time as the announcement, so make of that what you will. Coogler called Lamar “inspirational” and said his “artistic themes align with those we explore in the film”. Lamar is mostly known for his frank explorations of black identity, faith and the sociopolitical landscape in the US, so hopefully Coogler’s comments suggest that Black Panther might have a political bent. Epic!

'Coco' Review: Disney And Pixar Are At it Again!!

Image
Disney and Pixar really know how to tug on them heartstrings. Coco is another prime example of how emotionally involved we all get over the films they make, you would think being that there for kids it would just be a kids film, wrong! Time and time again they release films that are perfect for the hole family, but I honestly believe some of these films including Coco are more aimed at us adults then these young kids that dare to dream! Miguel is a young boy who dreams of being a musician, but not just any musician, the Ernesto of musicians! One big problem sits in the way of his dream, his family have completely shut themselves off from all things music, obviously there is a back story as to why, but you can watch it and find that out yourselves. Generations upon generations of his family have all been zapateros (shoemakers) and all have not listened or even thought about the rich, beautiful sound that is music! Could you imagine that, living in a world with no music, I live fo

'Bright' Review: The Complete Opposite To It's Title!

Image
🌟 Bright 🌟 Review 🌟 6/10 🌟 This really could have been something. Instead we get a mashup of movies we've seen before (Alien Nation, Training Day, etc.) that results in a disordered, shallow mess. The world is never fully explained, the characters are not fleshed out, the dialogue is cliched. Will Smith looks like he's phoning it in, and I don't blame him at all. There were some nice action sequences and the special effects, particularly involving the wand, were effective. That and my love for Joel Edgerton was the movie's only saving grace. I was so dissapointed with this, I was so pumped, you would of thought Netflix + Smith + Edgerton + 90 Mill = EPIC! Right, wrong? Sad face emoji! I hear they've already greenlit a sequel. If so, please, Netflix, for the love of God, find a better screenwriter.
