HERE'S MY TOP 14 SUMMER MOVIES OF 2017 YOU NEED TO SEE IN THE CINEMA!

Image
When the blistering heat kicks in this summer, what do you do? Well I'm going to tell you what to do: You are going to reserve yourself a seat at your local cinema for the entirety of summer as we have a metric ton of kickass films coming to the big screens!  Now let me take you on a rundown of all the reasons why you should do as I say: Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2  (May 5, 2017): Everyone’s  favorite gang of intergalactic a-holes  are back with some sweet throwback tunes, the continuing adventures of Baby Groot, and Kurt Russell as a sentient planet who definitely absolutely one hundred percent has a wiener. The sequel has some massive expectations to live up to, but then again it also has 100 percent more Sylvester Stallone than the first one and if the MCU was in desperate need of one thing, it was a Tango & Cash reunion. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword  (May 12, 2017): Look, I was just as surprised as the next person when I read that Guy Ritchie was going t

SAMUEL L. JACKSON, JAMES MCAVOY AND BRUCE WILLIS ALL TO STAR IN "UNBREAKABLE" SEQUEL "GLASS"

Image
First and foremost, before you continue reading this story, please be advised that it contains a  spoiler  for a movie that is not  Unbreakable . Okay, Well here we go! In the year 2000, M. Night Shyamalan (hot off the success of  The Sixth Sense ) directed  Unbreakable , which was marketed like another supernatural thriller, but was actually a superhero origin movie, long before superhero movies became as popular as they are now.  There was talk of an  Unbreakable  sequel, which eventually subsided, but then it jumped back into the pop culture consciousness this January when the ending of the twisted  Split  revealed that the film is to be set in the same world as  Unbreakable . Well, this week, M. Night Shyamalan revealed that his next film  will be called  Glass , taking its title from the villain played by Samuel L. Jackson. Bruce Willis will also return (as  Unbreakable  hero David Dunn), as will James McAvoy, reprising his own villain role from  Split .  Universal Pictur

GREAT NEWS AS DISNEY HAVE FOUND THERE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN IN EWAN MCGREGOR!

Image
Christopher Robin, Disney’s upcoming live-action film continuation of the Winnie The Pooh story, appears to have found its star in Ewan McGregor. According to the Hollywood reporter, McGregor is in talks to headline the live-action film, taking on the title role of   Christopher Robin , directly drawn from author A.A. Milne’s Winnie The Pooh stories. However, this particular Pooh project – not to be confused with this November’s A.A. Mile biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin – will see McGregor play an adult version of Christopher, stuck in an especially humdrum period in his life, focused on his career as a businessman and far-removed from his halcyon childhood days of imagination-fueled pastoral hijinks with anthropomorphic stuffed animals such as Pooh Bear, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit. Christopher Robin will be directed by Marc Forster. His resume to date includes high-profile action pictures such as 2013’s World War Z and 2008 James Bond sequel Quantum Of Solace, along wi

ITS ALMOST THE END OF PSYCHO WITH BATES MOTEL SEASON 5 EPISODE 9 REVIEW - VISITING HOURS

Image
★★★★☆ Norma is now full-on in the driver’s seat inside Norman’s head as  Bates Motel  barrels ahead into its swan song. As Norman’s fate gets dangerously close to being revealed, everyone else is dealing with mixed emotions and trying to make sense of their new realities. –– ADVERTISEMENT –– With Norman now in custody and within holding, it’s only natural to reflect on how this seismic shift is also affecting the few remaining people still in his life. Thieriot and Cooke act their asses off in this one and it’s once again great to see how far they’ve come as performers. While last week I mentioned that I wouldn’t have been surprised if the series just glossed over Emma in favor of doubling down on Norman, her presence in “Visiting Hours” is  so  fundamental that I can’t believe I considered the show might have robbed its audience of this. Norman and Emma’s relationship was a huge part of the show’s first few years. It might have felt awkward or problemati

"13 REASONS WHY" IS ALMIGHTY CLOSE TO BEING RENEWED BY NETFLIX FOR A SECOND SEASON!

Image
"13 Reasons Why"   is on the verge of getting a second season on Netflix. Deadline reports that the streaming service is close to ordering Season 2 of the adaptation of Jay Asher's bestselling YA novel. And the Hollywood Reporter says that a writers room was opened a few weeks ago. Another sign that Season 2 is happening? Ross Butler, who plays Ross Butler on "13 Reasons Why," dropped out of his other acting gig on The CW's "Riverdale" due to scheduling conflicts. "13 Reasons Why" received mostly positive reviews and has been trending on social media since its debut. The show starred Dylan Minnette as a high school teen grieving from the suicide of a friend, Hannah (Katherine Langford). He receives a box of tapes she recorded before her death, with each tape explaining how 13 people were responsible for her death. While the show has been praised for its spotlight on bullying and sexual assault, it has also been criticized for i

CHECK OUT THE NEW PROLOGUE FILM FOR ALIEN: COVENANT WHICH EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER PROMETHEUS!

Image
Alien: Covenant  made an effort to delineate itself as a prequel to  Alien , though it's still really kind of a  Prometheus 2 .  Though director Ridley Scott has switched perspective from Noomi Rapace's Dr. Elizabeth Shaw to a brand new reel of faces, the crew of the colony ship The Covenant, the narrative still leads them to the planet eventually occupied solely by creepy android David (Michael Fassbender). Which leaves a pretty large chunk of the story untold, now succinctly filled in with prologue film  The Crossing , which tracks the journey Shaw and David set off on at the end of  Prometheus , bound straight for the homeworld of the Engineers. First off, it offers an explanation as to why David won't still be the detached humanoid head rolling around we see at the end of  Prometheus , with Shaw carefully reconstructing him in an act of kindness that he'd never before experienced, certainly not from the Weyland Corporation that manufactured him.  We then se

INTO THE BADLANDS SEASON 2 EPISODE 4 REVIEW: PALM OF THE IRON FOX

Image
★★★★☆ Well, this was a pleasant surprise. After last week’s slow-ish interlude in which we sat around waiting for the Baron prom to happen, we get an entire episode that’s all just about speeding up the pace. To put it lightly, major shit goes down in “Palm of the Iron Fox”, shit that has huge ramifications on the rest of the season, if not the series itself. I, for one, say bravo (and it's about time).  I'm not saying this episode is perfect. Characters (especially those who are newly introduced) still take on the laborious and unrealistic task of providing details about their backstories to give us fo lks at home an idea of where they fall on   Into the Badlands ’ large character spectrum. Case in point, Baron Chau, someone who has the potential to become a fan favourite. I'd like to to see her do more than spend most of her screen time detailing her resume and summarizing her life to those who are supposed to know her well. "Palm of the Iron Fox” just m

DID ZOE SALDANA JUST ACCIDENTALLY TELL US THE TITLE FOR AVENGERS 4!

Image
I think Zoe Saldana may have revealed the title for Avengers 4. In an interview with BBC reporter Lizo Mzimba, Saldana revealed that the Guardians of the Galaxy cast just finished filming the third Avengers film, Infinity War, and that they'll have to come back to work on the fourth Avengers film later this year. "I think that the Guardians just shot their part when it comes to Infinity War' the first part," said Saldana. "And we all have to go back for Gauntlet later this year." eems Avengers 4 is reportedly called Infinity Gauntlet. If true, this would be the reverse of comic book titles. Marvel released Infinity Gauntlet first in 1991 and followed it up with 1992's Infinity War. We have until the film releases on May 3, 2019 to find out. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently revealed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be "very different" after Avengers 4 and that Tim Holland's Spider-Man/Peter Parker wil

THE TRAILER FOR KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE HAS FINALLY DROPPED!

Image
The original Kingsman became a major surprise hit back in 2014, packed with explosive action and raucous comedy, Samuel L Jackson on silly villainous form (loves to make people bleed but barfs at the site of it) and breakout star Taron Egerton. Its sequel therefore comes bundled with even greater expectations, and it’s certainly looking to deliver judging by the spectacular first. Getting our first peaks at the new all-star cast, including Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges, it’s looking like the blockbuster credentials are being given a significant boost by these big names. Also, a little moment for the Rayman-inspired mechanical fist henchman please. The sequel directed by Matthew Vaughn (kick-ass) is set to switch the action to the United States, where they discover a US equivalent spy organisation called the Statesmen. Along with the newbies, old favourites Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Colin Firth are also set to return. Kings

LAST WEEK'S TOP STORY! WILL SMITH THE GENIE?

Image
As you all probably know by now, last weeks top story was all about Disney’s live-action remake of their 1992 animated hit  Aladdin , surprisingly little was revealed about the movie’s most popular character, the Genie, originally voiced by the late/great Robin Williams. Yes, there were stories a few years ago about a possible movie called  Genies , all about them, but since this live-action version started taking off, the focus has been on the two leads. And that’s the thing; the lead characters of  Aladdin  are actually Aladdin and Jasmine (for whom  an international casting call  was recently held).  Well, last week, we learned that Disney  is in talks  with a very big star to take over the mile-a-minute, stream-of-consciousness that Robin Williams started, and it’s Will Smith. The   Suicide Squad  star had recently been talking to Disney about playing the villain in their new  Dumbo , but this is arguably (or even,  obviously ) a much bigger deal.  Aladdin  is going to be
