IS MARVEL'S 'INHUMANS' BRINGING NAMOR TO TO OUR SCREENS?
With Marvel's Inhumans series set to begin filming very soon, fans (Including myself) are anxious to see which characters could be appearing. It's been confirmed that Medusa and Black Bolt will be around, but there's a horde of other characters in the Inhumans lore.
This includes one of Marvel's oldest characters, Namor: The Sub-Mariner.
Namor The Sub-Mariner, originally called the first mutant, was recently revealed as a possible Inhuman. After the events of Secret Wars, Namor was no longer considered a mutant. Joe Quesada was then working on a series called Namor: The First Inhuman. Since Marvel Studios has the rights to Namor, but not to mutants, they had to make the transition somehow.
A new rumor suggests that the character could finally be swimming into the MCU, but it's nothing more than a leaf in the wind at this point.
Reel News Hawaii, a film source on the island, reported that there were rumors circulating that both Namor and Aquaman would be filming in the waters of Hawaii this year.
The source made it sound like there would be a Namor movie, but that's not in Marvel's plans in the near future. What is true though, is Marvel's Inhumans series will be filming in Hawaii very soon.
If that rumor has any truth to it, there could be an appearance of Namor in the series. Again, let's not get over-excited, because this is nothing more than a rumor.
Even if Namor is still considered a mutant in Marvel comics, as he is by some, he would need to have a different lineage on the screen. The Inhumans could be exactly what he needs to make that happen.
Marvel's The Inhumans will air the first two episodes in theaters on September 4, 2017, while the show will debut on ABC on September 26.
