'The Walking Dead' Season 8, Mid-Season Review: Ratings Are Hitting An All-Time Low, No Wonder Why?

πŸ’€ The Walking Dead πŸ’€ Season 8, Mid-season Review πŸ’€ 7.8/10 πŸ’€

Where do I start with The Walking Dead, we are 8 episodes in and apart from a couple of scenes here and there, their has been nothing of note.

We go into the first couple of episode's with all guns blazing, as Rick, the hilltop, Alexandria and the kingdom all decide to take the war straight to Negan's door. Ample bullets are wasted, but the plan is looking strong.

Couple of episodes down the line, it's still looking confident, there drawn-out plan to stop the saviours is working, speeches poor from Ezekiel's mouth declaring none shall die and we shall win "on this day". Still, nothing of note has really happened apart from Negan loosing some saviours. Soo all of this planning and agonizing work is seeming a little pointless thus far, but there getting somewhere right?

Wrong... We get to the last few episodes and we lose Shiva, Ezekiel is being a little wetbag because his act isn't working anymore and he doesn't know what to do, Gabriel is dieng, Aaron and Enid have been taken by the Oceanside group, Eugene is doing everything in his power to stop his old travelling companions, CARL HAS JUST BEEN BIT and Negan is at Alexandria blowing shit up!! So by the sounds of it, Rick is winning? NOT... What has Rick and the group actually done? They haven't taken any major lieutenants out, just people that can easily be replaced, in fact the person who has successfully done the most for Ricks group is Darryl's nemesis Dwight.

Everything Rick and the group have done up to now has ultimately resulted in tragedy for one of our beloved survivor's and total destruction to there home's in Alexandria! On top of all that this year's dialogue has been god-awful (courtesy of lacklustre writing), most of the acting from the newbies (including Ezekiel) has been dire and 6 of the 8 episodes have been mediocre!

Since we lost Abraham, we lost great dialogue and since we lost Glen we lost that magical energy! Thank God for Melissa McBride, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus! Plus the rest of the old crew who are holding this show up by the scruff of its neck! "How Its Gotta Be” numbers were 34 percent worse than last year’s fall finale, which was already facing a bit of a decline! That pretty much sums it up!
