Look out for Netflix's upcoming Thriller 'Death Note' Starring Natt Wolf, Lakeith Stanfield and Willem Dafoe: Check out the new poster!

Netflix has released L character poster, featuring Lakeith Stanfield as the master detective, for their upcoming movie adaptation of Death Note!

If you didn't know, Death Note stars Nat Wolff (Paper Towns) as Light Turner, Margaret Qualley (The Leftovers) as Mia Sutton, Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out) as “L,” Paul Nakauchi (Alpha and Omega) as Watari, with Shea Whigham (Agent Carter, Boardwalk Empire) as James Turner, and Willem Dafoe (John Wick, Spider-Man) as the voice of Ryuk the Shinigami.

Based on the famous and pretty bloody awesome Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds a great power within; if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, BOOM, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to use it as his own form of twisted (kind of cool) justice and kill those he deems unworthy of life.

Death Note is produced by Roy Lee (The Ring, The Departed), Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie, Sherlock Holmes), Jason Hoffs (Edge of Tomorrow), and Masi Oka (Heroes Reborn, Hawaii Five-O). Miri Yoon (Behaving Badly), Jonathan Eirich (Hammerspace), John Powers Middleton (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, The LEGO Movie), and Brendan Ferguson (Big Eyes, Reasonable Doubt) are executive producers.
Directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest), Death Note will premiere globally on Netflix August 25 (in the comfort of your own home).
