'The Limehouse Golem Review: Bill Nighy is on top form!

🌟The Limehouse Golem🌟Review🌟7.5/10🌟

Well crafted movie with a great cast of mid tier actors/actresses, good aesthetics and some nicely twisted elements made for an enjoyable watch, even though from my point of view, the ending was pretty clear cut (figured it out by the second act).

It was rather obvious where the film was headed, yet the journey remained suspenseful and filled with little hidden gems here and there to keep you intrigued.

Bill Nighy is one great actor, his presence on screen is a tour de force, so much seriosity, that you take everything in that little bit deeper and it leaves behind quite an impact with every line he speaks. He was perfectly cast here, as the other actors too like Douglas Booth , Eddie Marsan and the lead actress Olivia Cooke who you will probably remember from the hit series 'Bates Motel'.

All in all the film wasn't half bad, I rather enjoyed it. The gore was great, the plot was ok, the dialogue was good as well as the tone and pacing, and a few twists and turns kept it fresh, but it could of done with a little more work in some areas.

Of course I will recommend this movie, but bare in mind, there is close to no horror here, you will find no such thing, but only the horror of man. What man is capable of, his hideous crimes, selfishness, but has nothing to do with jump scares or tension just a bit of gore which is done very well I might add.
