First look: David Harbour as Hellboy! He looks badass!


On Tuesday, a new image of David Harbour’s Hellboy was released, giving us fans our first look at the character since the reboot film was announced.

The image was posted on both the film’s official Twitter page and by Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy. Mignola summed up his reaction with a simple, “Holy crap.”


Harbour, known for his role as the awesome sheriff, Jim Hopper on “Stranger Things,” posted a black-and-white image of himself as the character captioned, “Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste…” which references the Rolling Stones song “Sympathy for the Devil.” The tweet was later deleted.

“Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen” is scheduled for release in 2018 and will co-star Milla Jovovich and Ian McShane.

• There Will Be Blood, 2007 • 8.2/10 • Firstly, I would like to start with Daniel Day Lewis' mesmerizing performance as the ruthless oil prospector, Daniel Plainview. The scumbag cons local landowners into selling their valuable land for pittance, and then he comes along like a "straw" and "sucks it all up," leaving him very wealthy and everyone else in his way. 13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIER'S OF BENGHAZI REVIEW - MICHAEL BAY SUCCEEDS IN KILLING ANOTHER FILM!!

13 Hours  is very much business as usual for Bay; a barrage of noisy and largely indistinct action, most notable for an ADHD visual style that marries the silly viewpoint of a supercharged drone like a transformer for example with the editing rhythm of a Slipknot drum solo. I went into the film knowing almost nothing about the September 2012 attack on an American diplomatic compound in Libya and came out pretty much knowing even less. For the most part, Bay seemed to be aiming for the nihilism of Ridley Scott’s  Black Hawk Down,  which effectively conveyed the chaos of its real-life subject matter. Yet the chaos of 13 Hours has more to do with form than content, leaving you with the impression that it’s not story but Bay’s moviemaking that is just absolutely dire.
