'Brigsby Bear' Review: What A Pleasant Surprise!

⭐ Brigsby Bear ⭐ Review ⭐ 8.6/10 ⭐

I went into Brigsby Bear expecting it to be your typical stoner-flick... I was completely misguided, not only does it supply you with ample giggles and have a strong case of the cutes, it's genuinely imaginative and sweetly likeable.

This is one of them flicks where pretty much everything revolves around the main character, James Pope (Kyle Mooney) who was kidnapped when he was a child and forbidden to go outside due to the "poison air." His days consisted of chores around the house and watching and studying the TV show Brigsby Bear. While he's in the house it felt like a flick based in the 80/90's and then as soon as he's rescued by the FBI it's like he walked through a door straight to 2017 and i found that rather clever.

James is such an endearing fellow -- unguarded and kind -- that it's difficult not to like him and literally throughout the film you do not come across anyone who doesn't end up liking him, just like you will.

After finding out that noone in the entire world has ever seen nor heard of the TV show Brigsby Bear -- because it was made solely for him by his "old parents" -- he decides that he has to finish off the story, so, with the help of his new found friend Spencer, the pair set out to make there first ever movie about Brigsby Bear!

Brigsby Bear is a good-hearted story about the most unlikely of outsiders discovering himself while unintentionally helping those around him discover who they really are too.
