'Mute' Review: Netflix Are Having A Really Hard Time In The Movie Department!

The only film I cannot consciously recommend so far this year is Duncan Jones' 'Mute' which premiered on Netflix a few days back.

This film follows the boring story of a mute bartender named Leo (Alexander Skarsgard) who goes up against his city's (Berlin) gangsters in an effort to find out what happened to his missing partner (Sayneb Saleh).

This film was like a rotten onion, layer upon layer of shit. Hands down one of the worst films I have seen in a very long time, everything from the editing, dialogue, runtime and score was just completely off, but, that wasn't even the worst part, the thing that really got me was the fact that there was literally no connection at all between between Leo and his apparent love. When she goes missing you just can't help but feel, Why? Why are you looking for her? Why are you so upset? There was no bond at all to help us viewers connect to the characters. The character development was poor on pretty much all accounts and you would of thought that having a 2 hour plus runtime it would have all that covered, instead we get a long, boring and tedious film that's severely underdeveloped. Don't waste your time.
