WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO ON NETFLIX IN 2017!!

From supernatural love-letters to esoteric sci-fi, Netflix became a genuine powerhouse of modern television last year. Looking ahead to the coming twelve months, 2017 is set to be even bigger. Here are the best new and returning shows to watch out for.

Better Call Saul (Season 3)

What is it? Well if you didn't already know The Breaking Bad spin-off has evolved into its own cult hit, following erratic small-time lawyer James McGill years before his rebirth as Saul Goodman.

Moving, funny and tense in equal measure, it has picked up a following almost as fervent as that for its older sibling – and deservedly so.

Iron Fist

What is it? Superhero fatigue may be testing your patience on the big screen. But television allows creators to experiment with the formula much more. Marvel on Netflix has given us the action-packed Daredevil, the hard-hitting Jessica Jones and the subversive Luke Cage, and Iron Fist has been described by producer Jeff Loeb as “Marvel’s foray into martial arts films”.

House of Cards (Season 5)

What is it? The political powerhouse returns, and rumour has it that it’ll be bringing in a fresh character heavily influenced by a certain new President. Whether we see Frank Underwood adopting similarly populist tactics remains to be seen. But you can be sure that the usual scheming will be on display.

When can I watch it? Spring 2017 (TBC)

Stranger Things (Season 2)

What is it? Speaking of which, Stranger Things was Netflix’s runaway smash-hit last year, so it’s no surprise that production on a second season is well underway. It’s set to pick up directly after the first season, taking viewers back to the town of Hawkins and the strange goings on of the Upside Down.

When can I watch it? Late 2017

Black Mirror

What is it? Charlie Brooker’s near-future satire anthology found a new home on Netflix last year, but it only gave us half of the planned 12 episodes. This year sees the remaining half-dozen land. Jodie Foster has been drafted in to direct an episode, and the makers are teasing more “exciting news” in the near future.

When can I watch it? Late 2017 (TBC)

Ozark

What is it? Jason Bateman directs, produces and stars in this new drama that is being tipped by some as the new Breaking Bad (I doubt that). About a money launderer for a drug cartel, it certainly sounds seedy enough to challenge for Walter White’s crown.

When can I watch it? 2017 TBA

Based on the international best-selling novel's by Lemony Snicket aka (Daniel Handler), adapted for tv a series of unfortunate events follows 3 young children who lose there parents in a horrible "accident", After the loss of their parents in a mysterious fire, the three Baudelaire children face trials and tribulations attempting to uncover dark family secrets.
