KINGSMAN 2 DELAYED
Fans were left in shock and awe last night. As a special Thanksgiving treat, 20th Century Fox revealed the first poster for Ridley Scott's anticipated sci-fi thriller Alien: Covenant. Not only did it show off a grizzly new Xenomorph which looks so bloody awesome, it also came shouting the tagline, 'Run!' (Perhaps not as eloquent as 'In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream.') Most interesting of all is that Fox moved the release date up several months to May 19, 2017, which is not too far away.
Problem with this, though? Another hugely anticipated movie is being delayed which is quite disappointing. Yes, we're going to have to wait a while longer for Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Box Office drops the somewhat disappointing news.
"Fox has moved #AlienCovenant to May 19, 2017 and #Kingsman #TheGoldenCircle to October 6, 2017."
Kingsman 2 was originally slated to hit the ground running on June 16, 2017. Now we'll hold tight another four and a half months to witness the awaited return of Harry Hart and his pals.Which isn't to.much of a big deal because we still have so many top notch films coming out around this time and every other month so we good to be patient.
In its old slot, the Kingsman sequel would have had to face off against Disney and Pixar's Cars 3 which is going to be awesome . Though that franchise might be growing long in the tooth, a teaser was dropped this past week, and it garnered raves and plenty of interest. Enough to call for The Golden Circle to move. Also opening in limited release is the drama The Book of Henry from Focus Features.
Now, Kingsman 2 will be going up against another hugely anticipated sequel. One fans have been waiting years for. Yes, the stately Kingsman will now be going toe-to-toe with the return of Harrison Ford in Bladerunner 2, which is also known as Bladerunner 2049. It co-stars Ryan Reynolds. If that wasn't bad enough, the movie will also be going up against what could be a surprise hit, the animated My Little Pony movie. When it comes to paying audiences, never underestimate the Bronies.
Alien: Covenant originally had the October release date. Now, in its May 19 time frame, those deadly Xenomorphs could be facing even deadlier competition. Their biggest competitor is The Rock and Zac Efron in the Baywatch movie, which will pull in a decidedly different audience, yet both come packing a hard R rating. For the PG-13 set is the Conjuring spin-off sequel Annabelle 2. And the kids will have to fight over Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, which has given a complete overhaul to its whole cast, and the animated adventure The Nut Job 2. So all in all it is a bit distressing that we have to wait but with all these others we have to Bare witness two #CAF #MsaNewsandViews
