THE PURGE TV SERIES WILL COINCIDE WITH THE RELEASE OF THE PURGE 4 IN 2018!!

We’ve seen TV shows adapted into films and films adapted into TV shows, but The Purge franchise is looking to smash both big and small screens in 2018. Throughout 2016, we were uncertain whether the next installment of the wildly successful franchise that Blumhouse built would come to fruition as another sequel or a TV series; in 2017, we learned that we will be getting both. Now, Deadline is reported that The Purge TV series will, in fact, coincide with the release of The Purge 4 in 2018.

From Blumhouse Television, a co-venture with ITV Studios, and Universal Cable Productions, Purge is slated to run on both USA Network and Syfy in 2018 when a fourth movie in the Blumhouse/Universal franchise will also be released.

Indie maverick and Blumhouse mastermind Jason Blum also gave fans a hint at what we can expect when the series airs, and how it will differentiate itself from the movies: “It will reveal to the fans what happens the other 364 days of the year and how that law affects people.” The Purge 4 and The Purge TV series will be written, directed, and executive produced by franchise creator James DeMonaco.

Obviously, we’ve got a while to wait before The Purge TV series and The Purge 4 will come to fruition, so check back often for additional details as more news emerges. Stay tuned!
